Bring the snow inside!!

My kids were all sick this week again and that meant staying home from school. They had no energy to go out in the freshly fallen snow but kept asking to go out. It was also one of those days when your house looks like a toy tornado has gone through it. So I decided to grab a large plastic container and fill it with snow. I then called the boys to the kitchen table and they just looked at me like I had lost my mind. When I told them that they could play in it they were very happy! They got their gloves on and dug in, making snowmen, tunnels and Evan got out all of his winter animals and made a play area for them. The lid came in very handy and it served as another place to put the snow in.

It was good packing snow too so that really helped with making things and it didn't melt fast either. If you have younger kids, give it a try.

  1. and you can also put the kids in the tub, in their snow suits and boots and fill up the tub with a few bins of snow...easy clean-up, too....My girls loved to do it, but snow is HEAVY to carry!!

  2. Very fun! We actually used to do this with the senior citizens in the day program I used to work at!
